Prepare tools and materials: Tools that need to be prepared include wrenches, pipe clamps, raw tape, screwdrivers, etc.; materials include new smart water meters, sealing rings, pipe connectors, etc.
‌Turn off the water source: Before installation, be sure to turn off the main water source valve in your home and open the nearest faucet to drain the water in the pipe to ensure that there is no residual water pressure in the pipe.

‌Remove the old water meter: Use a wrench or pipe clamp to gently unscrew the old water meter, be careful not to damage the pipe interface, and clean the pipe interface with a clean cloth or brush to ensure that there are no impurities and dirt.

‌Install the new water meter: Check whether the model and specifications of the new water meter meet the requirements and ensure that there is no damage. Wrap a few turns of raw tape around the pipe interface to ensure the sealing effect, then align the new water meter with the pipe interface and gently tighten it. Use a wrench or pipe clamp to fix the water meter, but do not use excessive force to avoid damaging the water meter.

‌Check the installation: Make sure that the water meter is firmly connected to the pipe and is not loose. Touch the connection with your hand to ensure that there is no leakage.

‌Turn on the water source‌: Slowly open the main water source valve, observe whether there is any leakage at the water meter and the pipe connection, confirm that the water meter is working properly, and the pointer or display screen shows normal.

‌Test and record‌: Turn on the faucet and drain water for a while, observe whether the water meter counts normally, and write down the initial reading of the water meter for future verification of water consumption.
